How to use

  1. 01Apply a delivery preset or choose a format, encoder, quality or target size.
  2. 02Select a bounded local raster image and adjust the maximum width; changing settings cancels stale work.
  3. 03Review fidelity, metadata proof and the before/after split, then download or pass the optimized file directly into responsive variant generation.

FAQ

Does it upload images?
No. Analysis, resize, target-size search and export run in browser memory.
Why can the result miss my target size?
If MozJPEG or the native encoder is still too large at minimum quality, reduce the maximum width or raise the target.
Does the quality slider affect PNG?
No. Browser PNG export is lossless, so the tool hides lossy quality controls for explicit PNG output.
Where does MozJPEG run?
The same-origin WASM module runs inside a local Web Worker. Pixels are not uploaded. If Worker or WASM startup fails, the result explicitly reports the browser-native JPEG fallback.
Are SSIM and PSNR measured on the full image?
They use a bounded 256-pixel-edge sample after the encoded output is decoded again. This keeps analysis responsive and is evidence for tuning, not a calibrated perceptual quality certification.
